Thanksgiving - or - "I'm Bringing a Ladder!"

The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade - a New York Tradition!

And I was there in person this year!
...with a twist:

Rob said he was bringing a ladder. Being the good sport I am, I said, "hmmm.... oookkk..." and didn't think much more about it.

He brought a ladder:

There were breakfast omelets and coffee in a bag.

We sat up high:

Above the crowds:

Really above the crowds:

It was incredible!

And FUN!!

Then we went to the Friars Club for Dinner with Neil, Laura and Brian:

The next day we brought Thanksgiving to Rob's Mom upstate:

I have soo much to be thankful for!

Thank you all, my dear friends and family, for making my life so rich and joyful!

Look at the crowds!
(And we were the only ones with a ladder!)

Actual photo from a NY Mitten Testing Session in December on the beach...

Here's a snap of one of our NY Mitten testers battling below freezing temperature conditions on the beach in December...

Note the mitten's bright color used for signaling " Get me out of here!!!" at the conclusion of testing.

Note, no mittens were injured in the testing, and the testers had a great dinner in nearby South Hampton, NY.

In a related story:

Unbeknown to Floridians, snow actually exists AT THE BEACH!

A third breaking story involves the "Santa Cruise" where Santa descends on Greenwich Village and takes over!

Yes, the police were there for crowd control!

Stray Christmas trees were also photographed.

Halloween!

The next big activity was the "Sleepy Hollow Foliage Tour" and The Halloween Parade of Greenwich Village!

Photos tell the story:

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is just beautiful!

There are many famous people buried there, and the foliage was just beautiful!

This is a park in the Village, there was a pumpkin carving event, take a look at the second pumpkin from the left...

On to Halloween!
Here's Rob in his costume!

What does "Hot Steam" mean??
We don't know, but we were interviewed for the local TV station anyway!

People really get into the spirit of this holiday in the village!

Who you gonna call??

The Rest of October

Rhinebeck and Halloween in the Village!

In September I met a very nice guy named Rob!

After Melinda and Ryan's wedding, he took me to my favorite event of the year - the New York Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, New York. All of us sheep and wool folks just call the festival "Rhinebeck."

Here's what it looked like:

Outdoors - booths and eating! Music!

Rob petting a sheep...

At least 20 barns filled with vendors, wool and some filled with sheep!

And the funniest activity - taking a sheep for a walk!

Just LOOK at the trees!

Next comes the Sleepy Hollow Halloween Foliage Tour!

The Ceremony and Reception were extraordinary!
And Melinda and Ryan planned it all themselves!

I'll let the photos do the talking:

The Ceremony.

The First Dance!

The Toast.

The Beautiful Mother of the Groom!

The Love Table.

Melinda and Her Grandparents.

The Robins/Rabinowitz Women.

and.. P.S.: I met a guy... not at the wedding, but on e-harmony... followup coming...
